Dear future host family,

First of all, want to say thank you if you choose me.

My name is Lina, I’m currently 15 years old and I’m from a small village in Germany. I’m really excited to become an exchange student, because I hope to experience new things and get to know the culture.

I´m espacially curious about the typical highschool like in the movies, the friendliness of Americans or just the everyday life of an American family. I would love to join familiy activities like movie nights or shared meals. I’m also very excited to try out typical foodspots that I´ve seen on social media, especially crumbl cookies and raising cane’s but I’m also very open for other things anytime:) I’m also planning on cooking some german meals together if you want to.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time on my hobbies. Since I was six years old I´ve been  part of the fire brigade  in my village. I also play tennis for a long time now. Another hobby of mine is folkdance that might sound a bit unusual but it´s actually really fun. My hobbies help me make new friends and stay in touch with them. When I´m alone, I like to read and watch romcoms, baking for my family  (especially cinnamon rolls and cheesecake) and I like to paint my fingernails. Music is also a big part of my life, because my parents love going to concerts and so do I. On the weekends I like to meet some friends and spend time with my family. On the weekdays I go to school, in the afternoon I do my hobbies and in the evening my family and me eat togehter.

I have a really good relationship with my family. My mother and my father are the most kind and uncomplicated People on earth and they support me with evey disicion I make but also tell me their honest opinion. I also have a brother who is only one and a half years older than me his name is Mats and most of the time we get along really well. At the moment he makes a training as an aircraft electronics technician that´s why he only lives here during the weekend. We have the same friendgroup so we spend a lot of time together.  As a family we have two bunnys wich are really cute. They´re names are Ginny and Molly just like the characters from Harry Potter. My extended family is also very. I have seven cousins so my family is pretty big. Every year me and my cousins get an activity that we do together for example jumphouse. That´s really fun! And every second year we do an vacation most of the times we drive to denmark.  

I have a best friend her name is Nele and we are friends since the third grade. We share many hobbies together and we are also in the same friendgroup. She is super friendly and has had an huge impact of my life. I have two friendgroups one at the school and one at home but with my friends from school I usally don´t meet up but that´s only because it´s farther away. With my other friends I´m really close and we meet almost every week.
