Dear host family:

I’ m very excited to have the opportunity to write this letter for you. My name is Nerea,  I’m 15 years old( but in my stay there I’ll have 16-17 years old ) and I’m very excited  to have the opportunity to spend a year with you and learn about the american culture.

I live with my parents and my two big sisters.We have always been a very close family, and I think that’s thanks to the values that our parents have taight us since we were little.One of my favorite moments are the family meals we have all the weekends( all the family together: grandparents, cousins, aunts…).

I love it because it represents all we love each other and we enjoy being together.Even if I don’t live with them, I am very close to my grandparents, who I admire very much. I really like to listen to their stories and learn from their experience.

About me, I consider myself an active person who enjoys doing things all the time.Since I was little I liked learning and living new experiences, and that's why I want to take advantage of this opportunity so much.I always feel curiosity by the different lifestyles and learn new things that help me grow personally.I also consider myself someone who knows how to listen and understand the others.

One of my favorite hobbies is sports. I'm quite athletic and, throughout my life, I tried different sports.Right now I play basketball. I also really enjoy watching sports, especially the matches of my city's soccer team. Apart from that, I love spending time with my friends and family. I love cooking and experimenting with different recipes. During my stay, I would love to prepare for you some typical plats of my country and share part of my culture. One last thing I love is traveling, visit new cities in which I learn many new things thanks to my mum because she always tells us everything she knows about history.

My goals in life are to learn to enjoy the little things as much as possible and find something I'm passionate about to dedicate myself in the future. I'm still not clear about what I want to study, because there are a lot of different areas i found interesting, but I have clear I want to do something that makes me happy and that allows me to continue learning. I would also like to be able to travel and know different places around the world, learn from other cultures and continue growing personally and academically.

During this year I would like to meet new people, live new experiences, discover how the life in the Unites States is and improve my english level. I would also like to share my culture and my way of seeing the world, open up to you so you could know me well and, at the same time, know your way of life and your customs.

I am very grateful for this opportunity and for the family that decided to receive me. I hope to be able to share many good moments, learn from you and be my best version of me during my stay.
