Dear host family,

My name is Nere and I am a 14 years old girl. I am a cheerful person but a little shy with people at first, but once I get to know them I gain confidence. On my birthday I like to celebrate it with my family and friends. I usually have a party with them in my grandfather's social club and eat lots of candies and sweets. After that, we sing the happy birthday song and I blow the candles making a wish after it. And finally I open all the gifts and I give thanks.

I live in a little town which has more than 11,500 inhabitants. It is surrounded by many different mountains. It is a small town but it has all kinds of services: schools, sports center, tennis, padel, soccer, handball and basketball courts … It is a nice place to live because of the calm ambient and the natural environment.

In my family we are my father, my mother and me. My father has a sister who is my aunt and she has one son and one daughter. They are my cousins who are older than me: one is studying engineering and the other studied IT, and now is working in a company. I also have a grandfather and grandmother and I eat with them every Wednesday and Thursdays. I like it so much because I see them at least twice a week and I can speak with them a lot and we have a great time.

On the other hand, my mum hasn't got any siblings but she has a lot of cousins who are like cousins to me. And she has lots of uncles and aunts too because my grandmother had 7 siblings. Then, I have a grandfather which I eat with on mondays and his sisters in his social club. We eat all kind of delicious food because my aunts are amazing cooks and I help them: it looks like a restaurant. We eat a lot and talk about all sorts of interesting things. I always want it to be Monday because of it. I like it a lot because I don't see them so much and I really enjoy talking with them. That's why I start the week really well, and also learning new things.

I love sports and they are very important in my life, because I like to move and it makes me feel good. Besides, it is good for meeting new people. Along my life I have tried all kind of sports like: Handball, Taekwondo, Basketball, Tennis, Padel… I played handball for three years, but my favourite ones are padel and soccer. I practice padel and tennis once a week and I always have a great time because you forget everything else, and even if you've had a bad day, you completely forget it. I also like soccer so much but I have never been on a team. I often play soccer with my friends and I love watching the matches of my favourite team too. And I was lucky that I could see them training. After that, I took a picture with all the players and also they signed my t-shirt. It was an unbelievable day!!!. Whenever I can, I watch their matches but I also watch the matches of other teams.

Besides, in my free time apart from watching soccer I like to read, cook, draw … but what I like most is listening to music and going out with my family and friends.

I love children, I have a very good relationship with them. We play and laugh together. And I enjoy looking after them.

I like animals a lot: dogs, cats, horses, birds … All types of them, except snakes. When I was younger, I had little turtles and also a pony (my parents bought a small land where it lived). But nowadays I don't have any animals neither land because they sold it.

My goals in life are to go to university and travel around the world. I have always wanted to visit a lot of different places because I want to experience new food, know people, cultures … I am looking forward to going to the USA because I think that it is a great opportunity for me to improve my English, expand my vocabulary and meet new people. It's a country I've always wanted to visit and above all to stay with an American family to spend time with them, share moments, get to know their culture…
