Dear host family,

First of all, I want to say thank you for considering me and take your time to read my letter, now we can start. Hello, my name is Daniela and I’m from the south of Spain. My family and friends say that I’m intelligent, responsible, empathetic, patient, kind, and funny. I also think that I’m fair, hardworking, calm, and a loving person, unless I'm a little bit shy at te beginning. I love jokes, I’m always joking with my family and especially with one of my friends. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been afraid of turtles since I was a kid. My favorite meal I would say it's lasagna, but without cheese.

My family is made by my parents (who I’m very grateful to for giving me this opportunity), my older brother and my younger sister (my two best friends in the world), my four grandparents, and last but not least, my pets, I have nine dogs and five cats. We rescued them from the streets and animal shelters. Nowadays, my family and I work with a local dog shelter, where we help treat and take care of the dogs for a few months. We are like a host family for dogs.

My hobbies are listening to music, reading (especially romance books) and playing electric bass and flute (I’m a beginner on both, but I enjoy it). I love cooking and baking with my mom and sister (but sometimes I burn it), painting or going for walks with friends. Spend time with my family is very important to me, sometimes we watch horror movies together, and on weekends I love watching Formula 1 races with my dad. My most important hobby is volleyball! I’ve been playing for nine years. I’m now in a different club, and I really like it. I’ve met a lot of new people and learned many new things. I consider it my passion because I have been doing it since I was little and now I can’t imagine my life without it.

In the future, I would like to live in England and work in Formula 1, traveling around the world to the races. Although I would love to have a family, instead of kids I imagine having cats and dogs, or maybe hosting exchange students or adopting children, who knows. I would like to be independent and focus on the people I love and their happiness.

I would like to be an exchange student to discover a new culture, improve my English, and become more independent. I want to experience football games because I love sports, and to feel that American spirit. I’m also curious to try American foods (especially Raising Cane's) and visit some of your popular stores mostly the cereal section with all the big packages! During my exchange year, I would like to practice volleyball, cheerleading, or track and field, and also join the yearbook club, art club, or technical theater, but if I don’t have the opportunity to do it, I would be happy to try new things. High school life in the U.S. is very different, and I want to experience Homecoming, Prom, and school games.

Finally, I want to explain you why you should consider me and how I can contribute to your family.  At home, I always help with all kinds of chores. But the most important thing is that I’m a very cheerful person, and I enjoy spending time with my people, so I would love to spend time with you, maybe playing board games (my favorites are Cluedo and Dobble), watching a movie, baking a cake together or maybe decorating the house for Christmas. I would love to share with you some Spanish traditions and cook Spanish dishes for you, hopefully it will taste good. I’m curious and open-minded, so I’m always excited to learn new things from other people and cultures.

Thank you (once again) to take the time to read me and maybe to choose me. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
