Germany Hello,
my name is Lina and I am a 16 year old girl from Germany. I live with my mother, father, sister, and brother in a house. Our home is located in a very rural area. My sister and I spend a lot of time together. My brother is younger than us. My grandparents live not far from us. I especially like playing cards with them. We generally play cards and board games a lot at home. My favorite is Rummy. But I also like many other things. What I love most is drawing and painting. I spend a lot of time doing that. I also go to CrossFit training twice a week with my friends ( we mostly do interval training there). In my free time, I enjoy doing crafts or play the piano (I took lessons as a child and now I just play for myself when I feel like it). I also sew from time to time. I like going for walks with my sister and sometimes I play volleyball with my friends( but only in the summer months). I also enjoy reading and watching movies. My favorite book series is „ A Good Girls Guide to Murder“ . I adore studio, Ghibli films, and my all-time favourite is „Howl's Moving Castle“. Of course, I also enjoy travelling. I have travelled to many countries with my family on holiday. I have been to Denmark, France, Czechia and Austria with my family. I have also been going to holiday camps for six years and have travelled to Poland, Croatia and Italy during that time. A typical day for me looks like this: I get up between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. and then meet my friend at the bus stop, where we go to school together. I come home between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m and do my homework first. The rest of the day is free time. I either spend time with my family or pursue my hobbies which I mentioned earlier. I often have plans on the weekends. I usually meet up with my friends or do something with my family. I'm looking forward to being able to talk about my life in America and bring my culture into everyday life. I bake a lot of cookies, especially during the Christmas season. Of course, I want to take the recipes with me to America. I will also help out with the housework. In general, I hope that the exchange will give me confidence in using the English language, make new friends and family, and, as I mentioned, provide cultural exchange. Some of the qualities I particularly like about myself are that I am ambitious and creative. I am also always up for a laugh. That's why I think I would be a good fit for your family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter and the chance to become a part of your family.
LINA
